Supported Devices

Overview​

Casambi Pro supports the core functionality of any Casambi Ready device and enables controlling networks, groups and scenes with switches, sensors and schedules.

The Casambi Ecosystem encompasses a vast range of devices with highly diverse configurations. If a fixture profile is configured for specialized tasks beyond standard luminaire control, it may not be compatible with Casambi Pro. We highly recommend testing specific devices and their profiles during the planning phase to ensure full compatibility.

While Casambi products can offer multiple technical functionalities in one device, Casambi Pro primarily supports single-function devices. Detailed compatibility and support specifications are outlined below.

Luminaires & Casambi Ready drivers​

Casambi Pro supports all Casambi Ready luminaires and drivers. Please note that configuration in Pro is performed at the Group level rather than on an individual device basis; luminaires and drivers are managed collectively through Scenes.

The configurable scene parameters available in Pro are:

  • Dimming level in percentages (%)
    • In case the luminaire has multiple dimming channels, all channels will use the same value in Casambi Pro.
  • Color temperature (Tunable White) in Kelvin (K)
    • In case the luminaire has multiple colour temperature channels, all channels will use the same value in Casambi Pro.
  • Color (Hue and saturation)
  • Color to white ratio
  • Up/Down ratio

In case the device has other parameters than the ones mentioned above, those cannot be configured in Casambi Pro.

DALI Broadcast devices are identified as luminaires and work in Pro as any other luminaire. DALI drivers with separate channel controlling are not supported in Pro.

Sensors​

Casambi Pro supports any device that identifies itself as a sensor (Casambi Ready or EnOcean devices). Both presence sensing as well as daylight control (constant light) are supported.

Pro supports the following parameters for presence sensing:

  • Mode: Presence, Presence/Absence, Absence
  • Linger time
  • Fade time
  • Absence timeout
  • Manual control removal

Pro supports the following parameters for daylight control by running a scene :

  • Mode: Constant light (similar to ”Closed Loop” in the Casambi App)
  • One controlling sensor
  • Minimum dimming level
  • Maximum dimming level (scene default or luminaire group specific)
  • Target lux level

Switches​

Casambi Pro supports any Casambi Ready device that identifies as a switch, including battery-powered, mains-powered, and EnOcean switches with up to 8 buttons.

Pro supports the following behaviour options for switch buttons:

  • Toggle group on/off
  • Toggle scene on/off
    • If this option is selected, the long press for dimming behaviour can be set on/off
  • Toggle network on/off
  • Resume automation (group)
  • Resume automation (network)

Relays​

Casambi Pro supports relays where the on/off switching can be set with dimming value:

  • Luminaires go off when dimming value is set to 0%
  • Luminaires go on when dimming value is set to 1-100%.

Multi-functional devices​

Casambi Pro offers limited support for multi-functional devices. Currently, the following combinations are supported:

  • Luminaire + Sensor

  • Luminaire + Switch

Devices with functionality combinations other than these two are generally not supported. Attempting to pair an unsupported multi-functional device may result in a pairing failure.

Device Behavior in Layout

Once paired, Luminaire + Sensor or Luminaire + Switch devices appear in the layout as two distinct icons. While they are visually linked to indicate they are part of the same physical hardware, they can be configured independently.

Casambi Cloud Gateway​

Casambi Pro supports the dedicated Casambi Cloud Gateway.

Please note that using an iPhone or iPad as a gateway (mobile gateway functionality) is not supported in Pro. Additionally, third-party gateways from other vendors are currently not compatible.

Casambi DALI Controller (the Salvador product family)​

Casambi Pro supports all Casambi Salvador products and they support DALI DT6 and DT8 drivers.

DALI Gateway​

Dali gateway is not yet supported in Casambi Pro, neither is DALI emergency functionality.
